“Pływadło” is a recreational and sports event that has been held regularly for over 20 years now.
The event participants paddle down the Odra River in self-constructed and unique vessels that are built in accordance with the principles of good sailing practice. The purpose of the boating trip is to enjoy active recreation on the water and to promote the tourist attractions of the Odra River. Each year, a competition for the best, most spectacular and most innovative floating construction, i.e. pływadło - floating vessel, is held. The boating route starts in Racibórz. On their way, the crews stop in Turz and Dziergowice, where local authorities organize water festivals. Once the crews have completed the forty-kilometre long section of the Odra River, the finale of the event takes place in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Occasionally, "Pływadło" is preceded by a kayaking trip from Chałupki and the Czech town of Bogumín.
