The paper manufactory in Velkie Losiny is one of the oldest and longest operating facilities in Europe.
Jan Junior of Žerotín founded the paper factory in the place of a former mill at the end of 16th century. The tour around the paper workshops includes not only the Paper Museum where you can see traditional products, presentation of Asian technologies and various machinery and equipment, but also sightseeing of the factory itself. Visitors can see for themselves the process of pulp mixing in a Hollander beater, pouring the pulp into a tub and paper-making, then removing the sheets, bonding and smoothing. There are various activities organised for the visitors in the Paper factory. Visitors can make their own paper sheet (which then they can take with them), take part in creative workshops with lecturers, in a special evening tour, and see a temporary exhibition in the gallery of the Paper Museum.
