Summary of 2018

Implementation of the project entitled Cultural and Natural Heritage for the Development of the border region of Poland and the Czech Republic "Shared Heritage" was launched on 01.01.2017. 2018 was the second year of the project implementation. Subsequent meetings of the partners took place and further actions were carried out.

Below you shall find a brief summary of the events that took place in 2018:

 

The third meeting of the Steering Committee took place on 22.01.2018. at the Adult Education Center in Hradec Králové. During the meeting, one also discussed plans for the upcoming six months, which included, inter alia: brochures on microregions, fairs and events, study visits covering the individual Partners’ supported areas, border newspaper and issues related to the project website.

 

The fourth meeting of the Steering Committee took place on 22.02.2018. at the Hotel Spa LASKOWO in Jankowice. During the meeting, the participants discussed current activities, planned Partners' participation in the fair; also, the domain for the website was chosen, and plans for the coming few months were discussed. During the meeting, the Leading Partner presented a draft version of the Potential Study. Potential Study aims at establishing common, branded theme-based cultural and natural tourism routes that would include tourist attractions from the entire border region of Poland and the Czech Republic.

 

Sector workshop

In May and June, the Opole Regional Tourist Organization organized 4 sector workshop sessions designed primarily for the representatives of the tourism industry.

The first workshop session was held on 22.05.2018, the topic of which was: Tourist product value - product, asset or attraction. During the workshop, the participants discussed the very concept of "Tourist product"; also, they elaborated on its definition, properties, and image.

The second workshop session was held on 29.05.2018, the topic of which was: Building up a tourist brand and the use of Internet tools in its promotion and commercialization (tourism product marketing). During the workshop, the participants were provided with background information on the tourist brand, they were explained how tourist brands are built and what is the brand image. Also, issues related to brand and tourist product marketing with the use of both conventional and internet tools were addressed.

The third workshop session was held on 05.06.2018, the topic of which was: Cross-border tourism products - development and networking. The participants discussed the notion of a "cross-border tourism product"; they also addressed the process and methods of developing a cross-border tourism product, and elaborated on stages of cross-border tourism product development. How to network tourist products in the border region. Moreover, the participants examined the ways of analysing the potential of cross-border tourist products of the Polish-Czech border region.

The fourth and last workshop session was held on 12.06.2018, the topic of which was: Dynamic service packaging based on the new law. The new definition of tourism service under the new law was discussed. The participants discussed both the subjects of the new act and the idea behind the "dynamic packaging". The advantages for entrepreneurs and customers resulting from the application of dynamic service packaging were also presented.
